극동대, 네팔 유학생 위한 다샤인 축제 성황리 개최
극동대학교(총장 류기일)는 네팔의 최대 명절인 다샤인(Dashain)을 맞아 재학 중인 유학생을 위한 특별 행사를 열었다고 8일 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 네팔뿐만 아니라 방글라데시, 우즈베키스탄 등 다양한 국가 출신 유학생 약 450명이 참여해 의미 있는 시간을 보냈다.
다샤인은 네팔 국민 대부분이 믿는 힌두교의 중요한 명절로, 가족과 함께 보내는 것이 전통이다. 극동대는 고향을 떠나온 유학생들을 위해 올해 두 번째로 다샤인 행사를 마련해 그들의 외로움을 덜어주고 격려했다.
행사는 네팔 유학생들이 주도해 다양한 문화 교류 프로그램을 통해 외국인 유학생과 한국 학생들 간의 우정을 다지고, 네팔 문화를 알리는 기회를 제공했다.
김은희 유학생지원센터장은 “외국에서 홀로 지내는 유학생들에게 따뜻한 위로와 지지를 보내는 행사”라며 "이런 기회를 통해 다양한 문화에 대한 이해와 화합이 이루어지길 바란다"고 말했다.

Far East University Hosts a Successful Dashain Festival for Nepalese Students
Far East University (President Lyu Kee-il) announced on the 8th that it had hosted a special event for international students in celebration of Dashain, Nepal’s largest holiday.
Approximately 450 students from various countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, and Uzbekistan, participated in the event, spending meaningful time together.
Dashain is a major Hindu festival celebrated by the majority of the Nepalese population, traditionally spent with family. For the second year in a row, Far East University organized this Dashain event to support international students who are far from home, helping to ease their loneliness and offer encouragement.
Led by Nepalese students, the event featured various cultural exchange programs, providing a chance for foreign and Korean students to strengthen friendships and learn more about Nepalese culture.
Kim Eun-hee, the head of the International Student Support Center, said, "This event is meant to offer warmth and support to international students living alone abroad. We hope that opportunities like this will foster understanding and harmony between different cultures."
